“Puppy Pick” Protocol
In order to facilitate a smooth and efficient process for all parties on “Go Home Day” (approximately 56 days after the puppies have been whelped), DeHaan Labs will implement the following process:
1. A questionnaire regarding your desired traits and those traits in order of importance will be sent to each Buyer. This may help you pinpoint which puppy may best fit your needs. This questionnaire will also be used by DeHaan Labs to pick the puppy for you, if you so desire, or in the case where a Buyer cannot make their assigned appointment as listed in #4 below.
2. Routine photos/videos of the litter will be posted to DeHaan Labs Facebook account. We will also send videos/photos to parties with a deposit agreement in hand throughout the whole puppy raising process.
3. On/or after 42 days of age, any and all Buyers holding a “Pick” are invited to make an appointment with DeHaan Labs to come and interact with the litter and make their preliminary picks for the puppy they deem to best fit their needs/desires.
4. Once the “Go Home Day/s” have been set, Buyers will be given an opportunity to schedule an exact time of the day to pick your new puppy. At that time, you will be given an assigned time slot of 60 minutes to interact with the remaining puppies of the same sex as listed on your deposit. Buyers with a lower numbered pick (ie. 1st or 2nd pick) will be assigned early slots and those with a higher numbered pick will be assigned later slots. In certain situations, a buyer with a lower numbered pick may not be able to pick up their puppy at their assigned time. In these cases, DeHaan Labs will pick the puppy for these buyers. DeHaan Labs will use the Questionnaire and other communications with the buyer to narrow the pick down. De Haan Labs will make every effort to help facilitate times and line up picks in numerical order. However, in order to be fair to all buyers, DeHaan Labs will attempt to keep to the Go Home Day schedule and the assigned times.
